A water show unlike any other in the world, it was created by a veteran Las Vegas showman and features a high-tech stage that transforms seamlessly between dry and wet scenes, allowing for highlights such as breathtaking dives into the 22.75-foot-deep (7-meter) pool and a showstopping ‘dancing water’ scene with numerous colorfully lit water jets that blast up to 59 feet (18 meters) high in sync with the music. The stage holds a pool with 3.7 million gallons (17 million liters) of water, a size equivalent to five Olympic swimming pools.

B Reserve tickets allow you to be closer to the action on stage and provide good value as long as you do not mind getting wet (the first four rows are in the splash zone; towels are provided by the theater). Get picked up at your Macau hotel for this 9-hour private tour.

Your tour begins with a trip to the A-Ma Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in 1488, it’s one of the oldest Taoist temples in Macau. Go by other popular must-see places such as the 16th-century Ruins of the Church of St. Paul and the old walls at Monte Fort. Stop to enjoy collections in Museum of Macau, which occupies the foundations and platform with exhibits that illustrate the life of Macau and its people over the past four centuries, emphasizing the bi-cultural character of the city. Other stops of the day include Senado Square, Street of Rua do Cunhua, and the Cotai Strip.

Senado Square is nearby, and many people like to stay there for hours for shopping or just strolling around.  It is an elongated triangular shaped square and connects Largo do São Domingos at one end and Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro on the other.

Street of Rua do Cunhua is essentially the symbol of Macau and attracts tourists far and wide due to its traditional colonial architecture. Apart from the history and culture that surrounds this narrow pedestrian street there is a range of traditional Macanese pastries and snacks that are lined along the street. There is also the famous restaurant "O Santos" Comida Portuguesa which is known as Macau’s most authentic Portuguese restaurant.

Inspired by the Las Vegas Strips, Cotai Strip is the fastest growing entertainment district in the recent years funded by Las Vegas Sands. By the end of 2010, the strip will host up to 30 resorts making it the newest vacation paradise. You will visit the Venetian Macau resort, the largest single structure hotel building in Asia. You will have the choice to either trying your luck at the gambling table, shop till you drop at the Grand Canel Shoppes or treat yourself to taste a variety of international cuisine within the resort.

After your tour, transfer back to your hotel in Macau, or Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal (return ferry to Hong Kong is available to book from local tour supplier at an optional cost).

Macau City Sightseeing Tour more_vert
*$101 AUD Book

If you’ve wondered what’s unique about the former Portuguese colony of Macau, take a city sightseeing tour with a knowledgeable local guide. Visit historical attractions like A-Ma Temple and the Ruins of St Paul—both UNESCO World Heritage Sites—and see a few modern wonders as well. Travel the Guia Circuit, home to the Macau Grand Prix, and step foot inside the world-famous Macau Casino to experience the premiere card room. Your full-day tour includes lunch as well as round-trip transport from the ferry terminal and selected hotels.

Macau, reunited with China in 1999, was once the oldest European settlement in the Orient. You’ll find classic Chinese architecture as well as modern influences as you explore the city on your full-day sightseeing tour. Begin with pickup by your guide (from selected hotels or the Taipa Temporary Ferry Terminal) and drive along the scenic Macau Peninsula, following the route of the Guia Circuit—site of the annual Macau Grand Prix. Experience the thrill of this street circuit, considered to be one of the world’s most challenging due to its elevation gain and tight corners.

Make your first stop at Kun Iam Temple and admire its bronze statue of Kun Iam, Goddess of Mercy. Flanked by eighteen Buddhas, the figure stands 66 feet (20 meters) tall in beautifully embroidered silk. After your guide discusses the statue’s importance at this temple—where Marco Polo happened to study Buddhism during his travels in the 13th century—continue to Macau Tower to enjoy unparalleled views of the city. This iconic tower, the 11th tallest tower in the world, reaches an incredible height of 1,108 feet (338 meters). Entry to the observation deck is optional (own expense).

Next, your guide will take your group to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: A-Ma Temple and the Ruins of St Paul. Head to Macau's historical center to visit the elegant 15th-century sanctuary built in honor of Matsu, the goddess of seafarers. As you explore the halls of A-Ma, guarded by stone lions, admire its classical Chinese architectural features. Your guide will share folktales about the goddess who blesses and protects fishermen before taking you to a local restaurant.

After a delicious lunch, make your way to the 16th-century Ruins of St Paul. An impressive facade of the historical church is what remains of the original complex, which included St Paul's College and the Cathedral of St Paul. Walk up the 66 steps to see the evocative remnants, whose intricate stone carvings and sculptures were designed by Italians and built by Japanese Christian exiles. Admire the still-remarkable details and then follow your guide on a short walk to the city center, whose pedestrian thoroughfare is another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, take some time to stroll past quaint shops and local restaurants along the charming cobblestone streets.

Before your comprehensive city tour ends, don’t miss a chance to see the world-famous Macau Casino. Make a brief stop and try your hand at the gambling tables of this premiere card room; you can join one of the daily poker tournaments or play blackjack, Spanish 21, mini baccarat and more! Your tour concludes at the Macau Maritime Ferry Terminal, with complimentary drop-off at selected hotels.

Macau Monkey King China Show Ticket more_vert
*$70 AUD Book

It is arguably one of the most famous and enduring stories told in Chinese folk-lore and is one of the most dynamic characters in world literature. Monkey King - China Show is a large-scale fantasy stage play based on the Chinese legend of the famous monk – Xuan Zang from the Tang Dynasty (602 – 664) and is better known as ‘A Journey to the West’.

The Monkey King – China Show’s Macao production is based on the original version and brings all the Chinese elements of myths, fairy tales, drama, comedy, slapstick, magic and other features in one. It is arguably one of the most famous and enduring stories told in Chinese folk-lore and is one of the most dynamic characters in world literature. Journey to the West is one of China’s four most influential works in classical literature and is also a reflection of the spirit of traditional Chinese culture. To adapt a story like this for the modern stage is no mean feat. To do so, Huayan brought in a group of experts, scholars and artists to join the creative team.

The creative team have used these elements to create a rich and multilayered narrative time and space, that presents the audiences with traditional Chinese culture and modern vitality which at the same time provides a stage performance art with infinite possibilities.

The show is thus presented in the purpose built theatre created by Sands China Ltd. especially for Huayan Group’s Monkey King – China Show production. Guests can expect to be captivated by the giant 15 meter Buddha hand weighing 7 tons and two huge talons reaching out from the sides of the theatre. One of the spectacular scenes is where the Buddha hand armed with eight Talismans of Buddhism and carrying aurora and rainbow, strikes talons into the dust as a postlude to ‘Ode to Buddha’ based on the holy music at the end of the novel ‘Journey to the West’. This is the point when the Monkey King – China Show expresses its overall theme of changing evil into good and hatred into love.

Creative Performing Team

After eight years in the making, the Beijing Huayan Group launched a stage show in February 2017, based on this legend at the Sands Cotai Theatre in Macao.

The hundreds of colourful costumes were designed by renowned designer Ah Kuan, who skillfully integrated cloisonné and traditional Chinese elements to bring to life the magical and sometimes dramatic costumes.

All of these elements are complemented by a team of talented artists, acrobats, ballet dancers, and martial arts masters from all around the world including stars from the National Peking Opera. The acrobats include previous cast members of the world famous Cirque du Soleil, as well as past winners of the Golden Clown Award, gold medal winners of the International Acrobatics Competition, the Circus International Competition and CCTV Dance Competitions.

Kick your adrenaline into high gear on the highest commercial bungy jump in the world: the 764-foot jump at Macau Tower. You have the choice to jump during the day or at night, with views that extend from Macau to the Pearl River Delta and mainland China. Add on costume and GoPro camera rentals, if you wish (additional fee), or purchase high-quality video of your jump. All packages include necessary jump gear, a commemorative certificate, T-shirt and discount card for other perks.

Make your own way to Macau Tower for your daytime or evening bungy jump. Meet your bungy guide at the Adventure Platform inside the tower for a thorough safety briefing before being outfitted with your safety harness and other gear.

After your guide ensures that you are safely secured to the bungy cables on the jump platform, situated 764 feet (233 meters) above the ground, gather up your courage and jump! You’ll experience an exhilarating free fall until you’re about 99 feet (30 meters) from the ground, then enjoy some bouncy rebounds before slowly coming to a stop.

Jumping from Macau Tower is truly something to brag about — it's so extreme that the bungy team had to develop a specially designed cord to provide this safe and thrilling experience from the world's highest bungy platform, which affords incredible views over the Pearl River Delta to Hong Kong and mainland China, on a clear day.

Optional extras (for an additional fee) include costume rental and use of a GoPro camera to add to the fun.

Macau Tower Skyjump more_vert
*$475 AUD Book

A more controlled version of bungy jumping, the Macau Tower Skyjump provides the same thrills from the same dizzying height without the bouncing around or free fall. Using the same platform as the bungy jumpers, you'll be attached to a cable that controls the speed of descent, allowing you to stay in an upright position and land on your feet, 764 feet below your starting point. Skyjump includes a commemorative certificate, T-shirt, discount card for other perks, and the option to purchase photos of your experience.

After making your way to Macau Tower, your guide greets you and outlines your jump experience.

Start with a thorough safety briefing, followed by time to get outfitted with your safety harness. Once you're strapped in, head to the jump platform and mentally prepare for your jump as your guide securely fastens your harness to the tower's cables. Before taking the leap, look out at the panoramic view, which extends from Macau to mainland China, the Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong on a clear day.

You'll use the same platform as the bungy jumpers, situated at a vertigo-inducing height of 764 feet (233 meters). However, as a Skyjumper, you are attached to a cable that moderates the speed of your descent, making for a smooth, 17-second flight and upright landing at the base of the tower. The whole time, you'll remain in a standing position without the free fall or rebound of bungy jumping. You can compare this experience to base jumping, but you are attached to a cable instead of a parachute (and it's legal!).

You can choose to jump solo or in tandem with a friend, during the day or at night. You can also rent a costume to wear during your jump (additional fee) and purchase a professional video and photo reel afterward, if you wish.

Macau Tower admission option:

The price of Skyjump does not include the admission fee to Macau Tower itself. When booking, you have the option to purchase Skyjump only or combine with admission to Macau Tower.

Take a walk on the wild side on the Macau Tower Skywalk, 764 feet off the ground. Securely strapped into a harness and attached to a safety cable, you can walk, sit and fly around the exterior walkway of Macau Tower, the tallest structure in Macau. While you're up there, soak in in panoramic views that extend to mainland China, the Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong. This family-friendly experience includes professional photos and other souvenirs.

Make your own way to Macau Tower where your guide welcomes you and briefs you on what to expect during the Skywalk.

Start by thoroughly reviewing the safety guidelines, and then get outfitted with your safety harness and other gear. Once you're strapped into your harness, head to the doorway that leads to the exterior of the tower. Your guide ensures that your harness is securely attached to the safety cable with two points of contact. When you're ready, step onto the exterior platform, which measures less than six feet wide (1.8 meters) and circles the tower at a dizzying height of 764 feet (233 meters).

Did we mention that there is no handrail?

Follow your guide around the walkway, and hear informative commentary about the sights far below you. On a clear day, the views extend from Macau to Hong Kong, the Pearl River Delta and mainland China.

If you're feeling daredevil-ish, up the ante by trying out tricks such as leaning out from the building into space, sitting down and dangling your feet off the edge, or 'flying' around the building. You can even do the walk at night to gaze at the sparkling lights of the city and the inky darkness of the South China Sea.

Tap into your inner Spiderman and climb to the highest point in Macau: the top of Macau Tower, which stands more than 1,000 feet in the air. Securely attached to safety cables and accompanied by experienced guides, you’ll climb 328 vertical feet to reach the top at [1074 feet (338 meters)] on interior and exterior ladders, taking in sweeping views of Macau, the Pearl River Delta, Hong Kong and mainland China along the way. Nerves of steel required.

Make your way to Macau Tower’s Adventure Zone to meet the two guides who accompany you throughout your Tower Climb.

Receive a thorough safety briefing, and get outfitted with a harness, helmet and gloves. When you have all your gear, follow your guide to an interior ladder for the first stage of your ascent, which starts from the tower’s 61st floor.

Your guide connects your harness to a safety cable along the entire climb route, ensuring that you are secured to the tower at all times. Start up the first of two interior ladders, climbing through the inner part of the metal structure, which gradually becomes more narrow the higher you go.

When you reach the top of the second stage, your guide opens a door that leads to an exterior deck. Step outside and walk around the tower, marveling at the sweeping views that extend all around you. On a clear day, you can see Macau, Hong Kong, the Pearl River Delta and mainland China.

Then continue up, now scaling two exterior ladders toward the top of the tower. As the wind swirls around you and the structure becomes more narrow, you climb even higher. Upon reaching the tower peak, you'll be at the highest summit in Macau at 1,109 feet (338 meters). Hang onto the handrail, which measures a mere 3 feet (1 meter) in diameter around the tip of the tower.
